Born in 1972, Elgin-native Morven Sinclair trained in printed textiles at Duncan of Jordanstone College, Dundee. During this time she studied at several locations across Britain, including Manchester, Liverpool and London, as well as study trips to Paris, Morocco and the United States. Her work as been featured in group exhibitions in Dundee and in the Aberdeen College of Commerce and in Paintings in Hospitals, Scotland.

Her experience travelling has greatly influenced her work, incorporating the simplicity of African and Mediterranean landscapes and design:

“Inspired by the simplicity of the landscapes, and the atmospheric colours of the land, I have combined with this elements such as travel and transportation. I have tried to recreate in my work an atmosphere of travel utilising the shapes of old prams and bikes in conjunction with the human form. The human elements of travel—walking, running, pedalling and climbing have combined to produce source imagery for my final collections.

Time, movement, cultures, landscapes and the human form have created a collection of ‘well travelled’ design work suitable for both fashion and interiors

My Fashion collection is a fusion of these elements. Simple shapes in richly coloured fabrics are enhanced by delicate and carefully considered placement prints.“
